On 29 July 2026, NHQB confirmed a revised fee model that will take effect from 1 January 2027.

What is changing?

From 1 January 2027:

• The annual registration levy will be based on the number of private new home completions in your most recently completed financial year.
• Each developer (at group level) will receive an annual allowance of three complaints free of charge.
• Once this allowance has been used, a two-tier NHOS complaint fee will apply:
  • £300 for complaints resolved through early resolution.
  • £500 for complaints requiring a full Ombudsman decision.
